Halafihi Akauola joined the PALM Scheme through RWM in November 2022 with a clear goal: to support his family and build something lasting. Since then, he has been making a quiet but powerful impact every day. 

Manumaa Iatuila came to Australia through the PALM Scheme with RWM in 2022 and works for a leading meat supplier in Goulburn, New South Wales. Since arriving, he has made the most of every opportunity, not just through his work but by finding new ways to stay connected to the things that matter most.

Back home job opportunities were limited. The PALM Scheme offered a way forward. A chance to earn a reliable income, build new skills and support the people who had always supported him.

Access to education should never depend on location. That’s the belief behind Teacher in a Box, a local grassroots initiative providing offline educational resources to students in remote and underserved communities where internet access is limited or unavailable.

In 2020 Francis made the decision to leave his home in the Solomon Islands and take up an opportunity through the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme. He joined RWM and began working in the tomato farming industry in Lancaster, Victoria - a role he quickly came to love.

Jodie's journey with Regional Workforce Management (RWM) began unexpectedly, stemming from her engagement with the local community in Smithton, a town in north-west Tasmania. Prior to joining RWM, Jodie ran a dairy farm with her husband and served as a board member for the Riverbend Centre Christian Campsite.
