Transport & logistics recruitment FAQs
What transport and logistics roles does RWM recruit for?
RWM can recruit for all roles across the transport and logistics sector such as forklift operators and drivers, store persons, container unloaders, receipt and dispatch clerks, pickers/packers, dock hands, inventory controllers, mechanical fitters and managers and supervisors. To let us know about a vacancy, get in touch via this form or call 1800 380 833.
How does RWM keep up with the fast pace of transport and logistics?
With over two decades of hands on experience, we combine local talent with short term and long term international workers, so you've got both the flexibility and the depth of talent pool this industry demands. We draw on backpackers for fast, short term scaling when demand spikes and PALM scheme workers for more sustained needs, placements from short term visas of up to 9 months through to longer term arrangements of up to 4 years. Every placement is backed by our recruitment, onboarding and compliance support, so scaling up or down doesn't slow your operation down.
Can RWM scale our logistics team quickly during busy periods?
Yes, RWM can scale transport and logistics teams quickly by drawing on our full pool of local workers, backpackers on working holiday visas and PALM scheme employees to flex your headcount up or down as demand shifts. Backpackers are well suited to scaling up fast for short, fluctuating peaks, while PALM scheme workers offer a more sustained option. Our local expertise and national reach mean we can move on this quickly, without disrupting your operations, whichever mix of workforce suits the peak you're managing.
Does RWM offer skilled international workers for logistics?
Yes, for specialised roles like boilermakers, fitters and heavy diesel mechanics supporting your fleet or equipment, we draw on our Temporary Skill Shortage (482) visa expertise.
Does RWM work with logistics operations in both regional and metro areas?
Yes, RWM works across both regional and metro areas. While our roots are regional, demand for reliable transport and logistics workers is high in metro areas too and we support both with the same local knowledge and national reach.
What does RWM's recruitment process look like for logistics roles?
We follow the same thorough, five step process across all our services. First, a brief - you connect with our recruitment team to outline the role, whether that's a forklift operator, dispatch clerk, dock hand or logistics coordinator and we start sourcing and screening quality candidates. Second, sourcing - we present a shortlist of screened candidates for your approval. Third, selection - you choose your preferred candidates from that shortlist. Fourth, compliance - we run final checks including health questionnaires, visa verification and ID checks, so everyone arrives on site fully compliant. Fifth, placement - candidates complete onboarding and are placed on site, ready to work.
For PALM Scheme workers specifically, this same structure applies but with additional steps built in such as labour market testing, in country recruitment, accommodation, visa processing and mobilisation, which extends the timeline to around 8-12 weeks.
