Labour hire recruitment FAQs
Who manages the workers once they're on site?
An RWM site manager or our recruitment team manages employees once they’re on site as an extension of your team. They handle recruitment and onboarding, training, payroll, HR and compliance and health and safety so your team isn't left managing an external workforce on top of everything else. For PALM Scheme workers, that support goes further with our site managers and Cultural Welfare Officers providing 24/7 pastoral care, looking after workers' emotional and religious wellbeing alongside their day to day work.
What's the recruitment process for labour hire?
The process depends on the type of workforce you're after. For local and backpacker placements, it starts with a brief to our recruitment team, then sourcing and screening of candidates, your approval of preferred candidates, compliance checks (health questionnaires, visa verification, ID checks) and onboarding before placement on site.
For a PALM Scheme workforce, the process runs a little longer, given the extra steps involved such as in country recruitment through Labour Sending Units, visa processing, sourcing accommodation and additional compliance, but RWM manages every part of it end to end so it stays straightforward on your side.
Does RWM only supply casual or seasonal workers?
We supply casual and seasonal workers so you can scale up around your peak seasons, but that's not all we do. Local workers can be placed in ongoing roles, backpackers are ideal for short term or seasonal gaps and PALM Scheme workers offer longer term placements of up to four years. Whatever mix suits your operation, casual, seasonal or ongoing, we can build it.
What industries does RWM's labour hire cover?
RWM’s provides labour hire services across food, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, manufacturing, transport and logistics, trades and white collar support roles, essentially the full paddock to plate supply chain.
