What is the PALM Scheme?
The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme lets Australian food and agri businesses employ workers from nine Pacific Islands and Timor-Leste for up to four years, helping bridge labour shortages in regional and remote areas where local talent is hard to find.

We recruit in country, working directly with Labour Sending Units and manage the whole journey from labour market testing through to visas and compliance, travel, accommodation and 24/7 pastoral care. What support do PALM workers get once they arrive?
When PALM employees arrive in Australia they receive ongoing support via RWM’s 24/7 pastoral care from our welfare and wellbeing teams and Cultural Welfare Officers, who support PALM employees to adjust, connect and thrive. They help workers navigate cultural differences, settle into their new town and build a life beyond work, covering emotional and religious wellbeing, housing, transport and community connection. What other international workforce options does RWM offer besides PALM?
RWM provides multiple international workforce options including backpackers on working holiday visas (417/462) for businesses needing to scale up quickly with short term workers and skilled international staff via the Temporary Skill Shortage (482) visa for hard to fill permanent roles like boilermakers, fitters and heavy diesel mechanics.

The PALM scheme program supports hardworking individuals from nine Pacific Islands and Timor-Leste including Fiji, Kiribati, Naoero, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Tuvalu, Timor-Leste and Tonga.

Compliance and ethics are built into every stage of how RWM works and have been since we became an approved PALM scheme employer in 2018. Our process runs from recruitment and travel through to settling in and onboarding, culture, connection and community and on to skills building and qualifications, so workers are supported at every step of their journey here in Australia.
Each client has a site manager who acts as the go to support for all PALM employees on site, backed by Cultural Welfare Officers working around the clock.
