- Selected for the Pacific Engagement Visa
- Able to pass health, character and police checks
- Strong communication, teamwork and problem solving skills
- Calm under pressure, resilient and comfortable managing challenging situations
- Physically fit for control-and-restraint training and rostered shift work
- Hold, or able to obtain, a valid driver's licence
- Willing to relocate to regional Grafton, New South Wales or Adelaide, South Australia

As a Correctional Case Officer, you will play a key role in supervising, managing, and supporting inmates while ensuring safety, security, and rehabilitation in a respectful and structured environment.

- $75K - $95K+ pa plus super
- 9 weeks paid training
- 165 days worked per year

Pacific Engagement Visa FAQs
What is the Pacific Engagement Visa (PEV)?
The PEV (subclass 192) is a permanent residency visa for eligible citizens of participating Pacific countries and Timor-Leste. Entry is by a free government ballot, winning the ballot doesn't grant a visa on its own, you then need a formal job offer in Australia to complete your visa application. RWM and Serco can help provide that job offer for Correctional Officer roles.
Which countries take part?
Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Naoero, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tonga and Vanuatu. Tuvalu now has its own separate Treaty stream, connected to the Falepili Union treaty with Australia.
I haven't won the ballot yet, should I still express interest?
No – you'll have to wait until you receive your notification of selection letter. As soon as you have been selected, we can get you ready, confirming you meet the Correctional Officer criteria and starting the recruitment process.
Do I need corrections or security experience?
No. Serco provides fully paid initial training (8-9 weeks) and a recognised Certificate III or IV in Correctional Practice. If you already have corrections experience, Serco will review your background and may reduce your training time.
What happens after I click Express my interest?
You'll complete a short form with your details and PEV status. RWM will follow up to confirm eligibility and guide you through Serco's recruitment process, working towards a formal job offer to support your visa application.
Is there a cost involved?
Recruitment support through RWM and Serco is free - be cautious of anyone charging a fee for job placement and always register for the ballot directly through the Australian Government.
