Our client is seeking Kitchen Hands, Cooks and Chefs for casual summer positions in Port Douglas. All experience levels are welcome, with training provided and no formal qualifications required.
About the Role
You will assist with the day-to-day running of a busy pub kitchen, helping prepare and serve meals while maintaining a clean, safe and organised workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation and meal plating.
- Prepare and cook meals, depending on your experience.
- Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment and work areas.
- Restock supplies and assist with deliveries.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Support the kitchen team during busy lunch and dinner services.
What We're Looking For
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic kitchen skills or previous hospitality experience, depending on the position.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Reliable, hardworking and flexible approach to work.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays.
Pay Rates
Pay rates range from $33.05 to $36.81 per hour, including casual loading, depending on your experience and classification under the Hospitality Industry Award.
Shifts & Contract
- Casual positions from November to February.
- Lunch and dinner shifts available.
- Split shifts may be available.
- Work on weekends and public holidays is required.
- Potential for the work to be extended.
- Accommodation is available for successful candidates
