We are currently seeking a Forest Ranger for our client, a State Government department in the Roma region. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop new skills, gain valuable experience, and contribute to the management and monitoring of sustainable forest harvesting operations across the state.
- Full-time | Contract until 30 June 2027 | Potential Extension
- Substantial travel required | Paid travel allowance + accommodation when away from base
- Mon - Fri | $49.40/hour (including casual loading)
- Assess and mark trees, inspect harvesting operations, and monitor environmental and safety standards.
- Operate 4WDs and off-road vehicles safely in remote and varied terrain.
- Use mapping and spatial systems for planning and decision-making.
- Ensure forestry activities are safe, sustainable, and compliant with policies and operational standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, providing advice and support on forestry operations.
- Assist with timber harvesting planning, coordination, operational plans and sale documentation.
- Ability to work outdoors in a physically active role across uneven terrain and carry field equipment.
- Experience with, or ability to learn, ArcGIS, Google Earth, GPS and communication equipment.
- ATV and 4WD driving qualifications highly regarded.
- Rural work history with similar technical experience.
- Practical problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, and teamwork.
