About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic
to join their small, friendly, and hardworking workshop team in Wallaville. This role offers an excellent work environment with a relaxed, team-oriented culture and a strong reputation for high-quality workmanship.
This position begins as a casual role, with a competitive hourly rate between and the potential to convert to a permanent contract after 3 months.
You'll work Monday to Friday, with shifts between 7am and 4pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, repair and maintain plant, machinery, and heavy vehicles
- Complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard
- Supervise trainee/apprentice mechanics when required
- Work closely with parts staff to source required components
- Liaise with the senior mechanic to ensure workload is managed effectively
- Work safely at all times and contribute to a safe team environment
- Maintain clean and tidy workspaces
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Attend off-site call-outs for customer machinery as needed
- Accurately complete job cards to support invoicing
- Report incidents and near misses to the supervisor
