About the role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Business Partner  to join our high-performing People team, reporting to the Head of People. This full-time role is responsible for overseeing and delivering core internal HR function across the business, ensuring compliance, capability, and a strong employee experience across our workforce.
 
As HR Business Partner you will be a trusted partner to stakeholders, leaders and employees, delivering high-quality HR advice and operational support across the business. This position will have two ER Advisors reporting directly to you and you provide guidance and support to this function and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide generalist HR support to internal stakeholders across the business
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with leaders to understand business needs and workforce challenges within the PALM Scheme environment
  • Use HR data and insights to identify trends, proactively address workforce challenges, and support informed, data-driven decision-making
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of key People initiatives, including workforce planning, learning & development, performance frameworks, and employee engagement, supporting continuous improvement across the organisation
  • Manage a range of employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution
  • Conduct fair, thorough, and confidential workplace investigations
  • Coach and support managers to effectively handle people matters in line with company policies and legislative requirements
  • Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act 2009, relevant modern awards, enterprise agreements
  • Maintain accurate HR records, case documentation, and reporting with a high level of confidentiality
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture aligned to organisational values
About You
  • Tertiary qualified in Human Resource Management or similar field (highly desirable but not mandatory)
  • Previous experience (3+ years) in a HR/IR role
  • Demonstrated experience in investigating and responding to incidents
  • High-level knowledge of applicable legislation, industrial relations instruments, frameworks and best practice (or ability to quickly acquire the same)
  • Ability to interpret legislation, policies and other industrial instruments
  • Strong judgement and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
