About the Role
We are seeking a Governance Officer to join a respected local government organisation in Ipswich. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to governance, legislative compliance and continuous improvement while working within a collaborative and supportive team.
  • Pay Rate:  $67.44 per hour + super (incl casual loading)
  • Employment Type: Full-time;  3 months (with potential for extension)
  • Location: Ipswich, QLD

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Manage policies, procedures and administrative directives, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and legislative requirements.
  • Process Right to Information, Information Privacy and external legislative requests while maintaining accurate registers and reporting records.
  • Support governance projects by monitoring legislative changes and providing advice on policy and procedural updates.
  • Coordinate Public Interest Disclosure (PID) processes, maintain associated records and prepare statutory reporting.
  • Provide governance advice, manage conflict of interest registers and coordinate corporate travel arrangements for employees and stakeholders.
About You
  • Experience in governance, policy development or compliance, ideally within local government or the public sector.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legislative requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organised with strong analytical, problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
