We’re looking for a practical, hands-on person with a good attitude who is comfortable working in the sun and enjoys physical, outdoor work (ideally farming background).
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the government department as a Forest Ranger (A03) and be part of a team managing Queensland’s forests.
- Contract: Full-Time, until 30 June 2026 (potential extension) | 36.25 hours per week (Mon–Fri)
- Location: Mundubbera or Maryborough
- Assess tree selection, harvesting sites and other forestry operations
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards to support sustainable forest management
- Spend your days outdoors, travelling through Queensland’s forests
- Assist with preparing documents and proposals
- Operate vehicles and equipment (training provided)
- Work closely with industry, local landholders and your team
- A rural or farming background or experience in hands-on, physical work
- Comfortable working outdoors and in all weather conditions
- A good attitude and willingness to learn
- Physically fit and ready for practical fieldwork
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Current C Class driver’s licence (essential)
- Australian work rights and ability to pass background checks
- Paid travel expenses and camping allowances for remote fieldwork
- Work outdoors in scenic forest environments
